Employment Outlook

Volunteer status may be available in local areas for Emergency Medical Technician. Employment is often found through local, state, and out-of-state ambulance services, emergency departments, and private employers for advanced programs. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts full-time, paid EMTs will be needed to replace unpaid volunteers as it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit and retain unpaid volunteers.
