Description

In a hands-on, practical environment, students will learn haircutting, haircoloring, perming, manicuring, pedicuring, facials, hair removal — waxing and sugaring, acrylic nails, and much more. Students practice all competencies on mannequins and customers with direct supervision by licensed and experienced instructors. These real world experiences will help students gain confidence and success!

Individuals seeking the Cosmetology/Barbering Instructor certificate must have both a Utah Cosmetology/Barbering license and departmental approval prior to enrollment.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, growth rates will depend on specialty with increased demand for hair coloring, straightening, and other advanced hair treatments. A large number of openings will stem from individuals transferring to other occupations.
