Medical Terminology
This course provided the student with the skills necessary to interpret and understand medical terminology, in order to be successful in the pursuit of health occupation careers. This is accomplished by utilizing a method of study that not only instruct the students in building medical terms but also gives the student immediate application in utilizing the medical terms. Students will learn to identify basic structure of medical words, apply word building and definitions, use medical abbreviations, and correctly use medical terminology.
The Medical Terminology Online Course is designed to facilitate learning and instruction in the medical terminology area. The 60-hour course will be used in coordination with current BATC medical terminology courses offered at Logan and Brigham City.
One of the key elements associated with BATC is the use of an "open-entry/open-exit" course format that facilitates a "student-paced" approach to learning. This unique technique enables students to go through instructional material at their own pace to meet individual needs.
The final exam must be taken at a BATC facility and arranged with an instructor. A compiled score of 85% or above is necessary for course completion for the medical terminology course, so this unique course has been designed with that in mind. Unlike other online courses you may have previously enrolled in, this course has been programmed to monitor your progress as you proceed through the program and prompt you to repeat lessons or exercises to gain 85% proficiency rate, thereby ensuring your successful completion of the medical terminology course.
