Job Requirements Job Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent. • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably working with injection molding equipment. • Must successfully complete the required training in the allotted time. • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. • Ability to multi-task and operate multiple lines. • Demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures pertaining to the general operator. • Elementary mechanical aptitude with the ability to make adjustments to machines. • Elementary mathematical aptitude (add, subtract, multiply, divide) • Must have an awareness of GMP's to ensure hygienic security of components. • Basic computer skills. • For safety and business purposes, must have effective communication skills including reading and writing. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering highly preferred or the equivalent years of work experience. • Additional training or certification in lean process and product development is ideal. • Minimum 3 years of experience or educational background, with tight tolerance methods in machining and measurement system applications, blueprint reading, GD&T, working knowledge of short run process control methods, statistical analysis, DOE, ISO standards and FDA quality system regulations. • Minimum 3 years previous experience in similar role is preferred. • Windows-based computer knowledge required. • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles, biocompatibility requirements for materials, ISO13485 and US QSR 21 CFR, Part 820 Medical Devices, and basic understanding of the human anatomy preferred. • Knowledge of various metal and polymer materials as well as testing specifications preferred. Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings to programmed control data ensuring functionality and performance. • Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set up requirements. • Aligns and secures holding fixtures (such as: collets, vices, indicating vices), cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and tooling pre-setter. • Understand, calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow and enter command to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media; observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of–tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, comparator, height gauges, and gauge blocks. • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. • Comply with company requirements in completing essential documentation as required. • Train, assist and support employees in producing quality parts and in completing all process requirements. • Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury. • Maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment. • Must be available on reasonable notice for unscheduled overtime to meet production schedules. • Perform and document Operator Preventative Maintenance operations as needed. • Must fully understand setup and operation of at least two machining field (mills, chucker lathes, Swiss lathes, grinders, EDMs, etc.) or different types/manufacturers of same machining field.
